What has to go
Everything on the floor: vehicles, shelving, freezers, tool chests, bikes, storage bins. Anything anchored into the slab needs unbolting, and the holes get patched as part of the repair stage. Wall-mounted storage can usually stay if it clears the floor by a few inches, and we mask up to it.
What we handle
We can help move heavy items on the day, and we mask walls, doors, cabinets and anything staying in place. What we cannot do is work around a floor that is still half full. The grinding pass has to reach every square foot, including under where the shelving was.
Where to put it for two days
Most clients move into a driveway under tarps, a garden shed, or a rented bin for the two days. It is worth planning this before the crew arrives, because a morning spent moving boxes is a morning the grinder is not running and the schedule slips into a third day.
Come back to a clean slab
This is also the one chance in twenty years to deal with what accumulated in the garage. Most people find the reset more valuable than they expected, and putting things back onto a finished floor with felt pads under the heavy items is what keeps it looking new.
