The three questions that matter
What exactly is covered, for how long, and who honours it. A warranty that covers delamination is covering the failure mode that actually happens, which is worth something. A warranty that covers only material defect covers the failure mode that almost never happens, which is worth very little, because coatings rarely fail because the resin was faulty. They fail because of preparation, moisture or temperature at install.
Lifetime is a marketing word
A lifetime warranty in this trade usually means the lifetime of the product as defined by the company offering it, and is frequently non-transferable, prorated, and contingent on maintenance records most homeowners do not keep. None of that makes it dishonest, and all of it makes the term far less than it sounds. A specific ten or fifteen year written warranty with clear terms is worth more than an unlimited one with a page of conditions.
What moisture exclusions really mean
Read the moisture clause on any coating warranty and you will find that hydrostatic pressure and vapour transmission from below are excluded. That is reasonable, because they are slab conditions rather than product conditions. It also means the moisture test is your protection rather than the warranty, and that a contractor who did not test has left you with the risk and himself with an exclusion.
