We haven't made
any up

Apex Concrete Coating Ltd. is a new brand. This page will fill with real, verifiable Google reviews as jobs complete, and until it does, it is more useful as a guide to checking any contractor, including us.

Where We Actually Stand

Plenty of new contractor websites launch with a wall of five-star testimonials from people who do not exist, marked up so search engines show star ratings next to the listing. It is common, it works, and it is against Google's structured data policies, which is a decent summary of why we would rather not.

So: Apex Concrete Coating Ltd. is a new brand. The tradesperson is not new. Matthew Becker has been installing floors across the Okanagan for more than a decade through Becker Flooring, and that is where the track record lives right now. Ask us for coating-specific references and we will give you phone numbers, not screenshots.

Six questions that beat any review page

Reviews tell you whether a crew was polite and turned up on time. These tell you whether the floor will still be bonded in ten years. Send them to every contractor you are considering, in one email, and compare the replies.

  1. 01

Ask how they prepare the concrete.

The right answer names diamond grinding or shot blasting and a target CSP profile. Wrong answers are acid etching, pressure washing, chemical prep, or vagueness about "cleaning it thoroughly". This one question sorts most of the market, because there is no product good enough to make an unopened slab hold a coating.

  2. 02

Ask whether they moisture test, and to see the number.

A calcium chloride or in-situ RH reading should be taken before quoting and written on the quote. A contractor who skips it is moving the risk of delamination onto you, and you will not find out for two years.

  3. 03

Ask whether the flake broadcast is full or partial.

Get it in writing. Full rejection is roughly 0.5-0.8 lbs per square foot; partial is about a third of that. Two quotes can both say "flake system" and be pricing genuinely different floors.

  4. 04

Ask for the total film thickness in mils.

A real answer is a number: 25-35 mils residential, 40+ industrial, 1/8"-1/4" for quartz. A contractor who cannot tell you the build thickness of their own system is applying, not specifying.

  5. 05

Ask for insurance and WorkSafeBC certificates.

Both are non-negotiable for any contractor in BC. Real ones have the certificates ready to send. Note who hesitates, and note who changes the subject.

  6. 06

Ask for local references you can phone.

Not a review page, actual phone numbers of past clients in your area. Call two. Ask about the schedule accuracy, the mess, and how the floor has held up since. Ask specifically whether anything went wrong and how it was handled, because something always does.

If our answers to those six are worse than someone else's, hire them. That is genuinely the point of publishing the list.

Things that should end the conversation

Cash only, no written contract
Full payment demanded up front
A "today only" discount
No local business address
Acid etching called surface preparation
Refusal to name the products used
A quote dramatically below every other
No insurance certificate on request
